A short overview of the festivallounges of past festival editons:
During it´s year of founding in 2008 LICHTER was located in Atelierfrankfurt. in 2009 the former “Diamantenbörse” near the midtown.
After the long-term home of LICHTER, ERSTERSTOCK, became a victim of demolition work in late 2012, the Festival found a new, airy and generously proportioned home for 2013 in the Mainzer Landstraße.
For 2014 LICHTR took place in the airy and generously proportioned VAU again. The atrium of the impressive building at Mainzer Landstrasse 23, with its brilliant ceiling height of 78 metres provides LICHTER with perfect opportunities for celebrating the moving image in all its facets. With its striking rotunda, the building is well known from international films and was recently the scene for the Finnish Nazi comedy Iron Sky or the documentation Master of the Universe.
2015 LICHTER found it´s home in the center of Frankfurt, where also the FREILUFTKINO Frankfurt took place twice.
